Q1. What have been your greatest successes (physically, mentally or emotionally) since you began? How does your body feel now compared to when you started and WHY?
First and foremost I would say that learning to push myself beyond limits I’d ever hit in the past has been a big accomplishment. Learning to push myself and get the mental stamina to go beyond my comfort zone has been an eye opening experience. To find out that going out of your comfort zone won’t kill you allows you to push even harder which really boosts your confidence. Physically I am stronger then I’ve ever been before. In the past my unhealthy lifestyle had plagued me with what I thought were life long ailments; chronic back pain, obesity, even heart trouble, but thanks to sticking with CrossFit I can honestly say I am in the best shape of my life. Since I’ve started CrossFit I can even say I’m comfortable with how I look which has not been the case throughout my life.
Q2. How has your life changed since starting CrossFit training? Has CrossFit transferred over into any other areas of your life?
Since starting CrossFit I am in the best shape of my life and I have a confidence that I never use to have before. Not a cocky feeling like I’m a badass or anything just a confidence that I CAN do this if I try. I’ve learned not to give up and that has transferred into my daily life with almost everything I do.
Q3. What are the advantages of CrossFit style training compared to your previous workout styles?
CrossFit is a fun, fast paced, and ever changing way to get into and keep in shape that my previous gym memberships never could offer. The combination of movements and skills allows for a workout that is never boring or monotonous and we are always working on a different zone so with a few workouts a week my whole body gets covered and I don’t ever worry about needing to work on a specific zone.
Q4. What advice can you give to others?
Do CrossFit, push yourself, don’t give up, and have Fun with it!
