Your future membership payments might be eligible for reimbursement through HSA/FSA funds. CrossFit is medicine and can often count for tax-free spending – saving an average of 30%.
We’ve always found it to be so frustrating (and complicated) trying to use our HSA or FSA funds for essential items that should qualify. That’s why we’re working with TrueMed – a company devoted to driving HSA/FSA spending to products that are scientifically proven to improve metabolic health (like your membership at CrossFit DNR).
TrueMed will handle all the intricacies of using your HSA/FSA funds on your behalf, making the entire checkout process seamless and hassle-free.
On almost all insurance plans, the copay for a doctors visit is usually $30 or more.
If you have a doctor that will write a letter of medical necessity for exercise so you can get reimbursed by your HSA/FSA then you don’t need to use TrueMed. We recommend you contact your HSA/FSA to ask questions about their specific process.

Co-owner of CrossFit DNR married to the beautiful Dr. Vanessa Knapp, Father to 2 amazing canine kids (Liberty and Klyde) and standing in at 5’8″ 185lbs of pure BOOMSHAKALKA! But it wasn’t always this way. Back before 2009 CrossFit, Sharks, Bigfoot, Rock crawling, Aliens, Heights, Running, Kids, Zombies and Monsters alike, Spiders, and Raw Chicken Scared the crap out of me! So I did what any reasonable human bean would do. I Ran and I mean fast…. Haha YEAH Right, running… like thats going to happen I just told you running scares the crap out of me! So rather than running from my fears, I researched them, got familiar with them. Starting with getting my CFL 1 in April of 2009 and that alone has helped me confront my fears and meet them head on. Now I am not saying that I am not afraid of sharks, Bigfoot ect. but thanks to Crossfit and a great training team, I am more prepared if a time ever arises where I come face to face with one of them. And its My goal everyday to bring out the best in every athlete that comes through our doors and I expect my athletes to give me there best, every time they step foot in our box. So at the end of the day, you can without a doubt, look your own monster/fears in the face and tell them you’ve paid your dues, your stronger than yesterday and your not afraid to take them on.

I Co-Own CrossFit DNR with my brother, Kody. I graduated from CSU in 2012 with a B.S in Health and Exercise Sciences where I was a Personal Trainer at the rec center. I started doing CrossFit in 2009. Since I was 16, I dreamed of being an elite trainer and opening a gym. Kody and I started chasing this dream while I was still in college. In 2010 we began training athletes out of his garage and officially opened CrossFit DNR in 2013.
My favorite movements in CrossFit tend to be anything related to gymnastics. I have a passion for CrossFit and I enjoy the process of becoming a well-rounded athlete, however, my true joy is watching the progress of the athletes who come through the door. I am confident, and pride myself on being a top-level coach. The term coach, goes far beyond just technique though. I believe everything begins with mindset. The difference between setting goals and achieving them is optimism, and understanding that it does not matter where we start our journey. Constant evaluation of where we started, and celebration of the small victories will breed long-term success.
“Fear is not real. The only place that fear can exist is in our thoughts of the future. It is a product of our imagination, causing us to fear things that do not at present and may not ever exist. That is near insanity. Do not misunderstand me danger is very real but fear is a choice.”

CrossFit DNR has been more than just a place to coach and more than an outlet to workout; CrossFit DNR has become my home away from home. When I was introduced to DNR back in June 2013, I immediately knew that this was more than just a gym. The coaches that I have the pleasure to work with, and the athletes that I have the pleasure to train, have changed my life in more ways than one. I take pride in coaching my 5:30 am class, along with the others, and getting to know the athletes on more than a trainer/client basis. I understand what they like, I understand what they don’t like, and I understand how to push them to reach the goals that THEY came in to this gym looking for.
I am a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer and have been since January of 2014. I have been actively involved in sports my entire life, from Track and Field, Tennis, and Baseball; along with plenty of other types of physical activity. I have learned through practice and repetition, how to be the most beneficial coach I can be. After starting CrossFit, I have noticed improvement in every aspect of my life, not only physically, but mentally as well. It has changed how I look at what I am capable of and I am pleased to share this with the variety of athletes that come into CrossFit DNR.

September 9th, 2015 was easily one of the most life-changing days of my life. This sunny Saturday was the day I decided to join CrossFit DNR. My dad drove me in (I was only 15 so I didn’t have a license) to do a workout and see how I liked it. I did Cindy and it was brutal. I realized, however, that the people I met that day were very special people and that I had just found an incredible place. Today CrossFit DNR is my home and the people my family.
I was born and raised in Windsor and have gone to school in Fort Collins most of my life. Last May I graduated from Fort Collins High School, and now I’m at CSU working towards a B.S. in Nutrition and Food Science. I eventually hope to be an RD (registered dietician) specializing in eating disorders.
Ever since I was little, I have loved physical activity. I spend most of my childhood in gymnastics along with my three siblings. When I quit gymnastics in fifth grade, I began playing every sport offered by my school: volleyball, track, basketball, and field hockey. I had fun and was pretty good in middle school, but didn’t have the skill (or height) to do any of them in high school. I decided to try CrossFit the fall of my sophomore year and immediately fell in love with the sport and the people. Summer 2017, I got my CF-L1 certification and have greatly enjoyed the new experiences I have gained through my journey to become a CrossFit coach.
My favorite CrossFit movements are snatch and anything gymnastics (for obvious reasons). I look forward to many more years at CrossFit DNR where I hope to continue to grow as an athlete, coach, and most importantly— person.

I am originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where I first found CrossFit in 2013. Like many others, I was bored by traditional exercise and CrossFit instantly had me hooked. I had never touched a barbell or done a burpee before CrossFit and now those are two of my favorite things! Ok maybe not burpees… Although I like to compete with friends occasionally, I really enjoy motivating others to find their hidden potential in the gym!
I moved to Colorado in 2015 to go back to school, but also to experience living near the mountains and in less humidity! I am currently studying at CSU to obtain a masters in nutrition. When I grow up, I hope to pursue a career in research and education within nutrition and public health.
CrossFit has enhanced the most important aspects of a healthy lifestyle in terms of adequate nutrition, physical fitness, and social well-being. I think that these three domains should be our first line of defense against disease. I hope to facilitate changes in communities to use food and exercise first to combat obesity and chronic diseases. When I’m not hiding behind my laptop or buried in a book, I love cuddling with my German Shepherd, Saja, binge-watching shows on Netflix, and cheering on the Saints!
“You’ll never find a better group of coaches and community so invested in seeing you be your best self! I spent 2 years at this gym and leaving this community was undoubtedly the hardest part about leaving Colorado! You’ll get stronger, faster, and have fun doing. Don’t look any further – CrossfitDNR is the place for you! Welcome home!”
